That moment in a yoga asana class where the teacher says, ‘If it’s in your practice...’ and offers an inversion or arm-balance.
You wonder how you’re supposed to make these shapes part of your practice. You’re not alone.
Often, there’s not enough time in a regular class to break down these shapes and prepare to enter, or even try, the posture safely. This is your invitation to join us for a playful workshop exploring the foundations for an inversion practice.
In this 2-hour workshop, we’ll practise going upside down with a focus on strength, alignment and body awareness, rather than force or haste. We’ll break down some key poses like sirsasana (headstand), pincha mayurasana (forearm balance) and adho mukha vrksasana (handstand) prep in a supportive and guided environment.
Whether you’re completely new to inversions or looking to develop your existing practice, you’ll explore a range of postures, starting where you’re at, through drills and techniques that you can take home with you and weave into your regular classes.
So the next time the teacher says, ‘If it’s in your practice...’ you’ll be ready.
All levels of experience are most welcome.
