CAROL SANDIFORD

I am a Registered Psychologist (B.Psych.Sc.Hons; M.Psych, Ed & Dev / PhD) with over eleven years’ experience supporting women and young people. 

I understand that it can be a daunting undertaking to find a psychologist who is right for you, so my aim is to make that process as easy as possible. Please feel free to connect with me prior to making an appointment so that you can be comfortable that I am a good fit for you.

I aim to establish a caring authentic connection with each client. In this safe and supported environment, I will work with you to help you explore values, deepen self-awareness and learn skills
that will enable you to overcome challenges and ultimately allow you to live a rich and meaningful
life. I believe in a wholistic approach working across multiple areas of life including work (or school),
family, relationships, creativity, sleep and diet as I believe all areas contribute to wellbeing. I am an
ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, sex worker (and sex) positive, and committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental and accepting therapeutic environment for all clients.  You are welcome here, just as you are.

I am committed to evidence-based practice and use a variety of therapies based on your own
individual needs and preferences. My therapeutic approach includes Acceptance Commitment
Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Emotion Focussed
Therapy.  I am also trained in EMDR which is an evidence-based therapy for complex trauma.
