Liven up your yoga practice, challenge your focus and fly with handstands and arm balances.
This 2-hour workshop will break down the steps to build up to these poses so that you can develop confidence within each one, move at your own pace and finish standing strong.
Handstands and arm balances can appear crazy-fancy and quite intimidating in a yoga class. By coming to this workshop, you have the time and space to develop body awareness upside down, ask questions, take risks in a safe environment and get to understand that they might not be as scary as they look. You are capable of standing strong.
Led by JJ, yoga facilitator who has a background in dance and gymnastics and more than 20 years experience of standing on her hands. She'll help you get comfortable with falling over and rising strong, and not taking yourself too seriously along the way.
This workshop will cover balancing safety and falling with joy. We'll look at the biomechanics of hand balancing
building upper body strength. We'll go through some drills leading up to handstands, with and without the wall,
and we'll also play with a range of arm balancing poses.
